JVS Names 'Employer of the Year',
Agencies Elect Amberg, Welling

Out of Retirement

Abner A. Wolf, Inc., whole-
sale grocers, was naked "Em-
ployer-of-the-Year" Wednesday
by the Jewish Vocational Serv-
ice at the joint annual meeting
of JVS and Community Work-
shop.
The award was presented to
the Wolf firm for its coopera-
tion in hiring a large number
of persons, including some with
special employment problems,
who had been referred to it
by JVS in the past year.
Twenty-four other firms were
praised for "outstanding assis-
tance" in employing persons
referred by the agency, and
received employer honor roll
citations.
Robert S. Amberg, who had
served as a vice-president, was
elected president of the Vo-
cational Service, succeeding
Hoke Levin.
Also elected to one-year
terms as officers of JVS were
Jacob Kellman and Nathan
Shevitz, vice-presidents; Leon
G. Winkelman, secretary, and
Clarence L. Ascher, treasurer.
David M. Welling, formerly

president of Community Work-
shop, succeeding Samuel S.
Greenberg.

Jacob Levy Foundation of New

erection of a building on the
new campus of the Hebrew
University at Givat Ram, Jeru-

called the "Jacob Levy Build-
ing for Economics and Social
Sciences," in honor of the late
