Nate Robinson, a native De-
troiter, son of the late Mr. and
Mrs. David Robinson, prominent
local pioneer Jewish leader, died
Sunday in St. Petersburg, Fla.
Interment was in Westchester,
N. Y.
Surviving him are his wife,
Lillian, of St. Petersburg; a
daughter, Mrs. Katherine Lewis,
of Rochester, N. Y.; two grand-
children; a sister, Mrs. Jacob
Perlmutter, and brothers, Louis,
Charles, Morris, Eli, Abe and
Philip.
The deceased, who was active
in business here for many years,
lived for a time in' New York
and moved to St. Petersburg in
1950. He was a member of Tem-
ple Rodef Sholom in New York.

NATHAN BARKIVIAN, well-
known East Tawas merchant
and civic leader, died April 28,
at the age of 67. Services and
interment were in Bay City. He
leaves his wife, May; five broth-
ers, Joseph, Harris and Milton,
of East Tawas, Aaron, of Chi-
cago, and Julius. of New York;
and two sisters, Helena and Re-
gina, of New York.

land, died May 3. Survived by
her •husband, Morris Chaim;
four sons, Jay S., David, Harry
and Jack; five daughters, Mrs.
Harry Blitz, Mrs. Milton Du-

of Brooklyn, N. Y., Mrs. Marvin
Morris L. Leibowitz Dies; Seligson and Yetta Bodzin; a
Devoted Labor Zionist Was brother, a sister, and 22 grand-
children.

On Way to Settle in Israel

Morris L. Leibowitz lived
alone in Detroit. For nearly 40
years he was active in the Labor
Zionist movement and was dear-
ly beloved here.
He was a leader in Histadrut,
for years had worked for the
Jewish National Fund and other
causes for Israel.
He had just reached 65, and
he decided to settle in Israel.
He left for New York, planning
to stop in England to visit with
his only surviving relatives—
several cousins. The day before
he was to sail, lie was found
dead in a New York hotel.
Funeral services were held
at Hebrew Memorial Home here
on Thursday.

in Israel at Age of 92

Dr. Lipsky Dies

Dr. Jacob Lipsky, a practicing
physician in Detroit since 1923,
died Sunday. Funeral services
were at the Ira K a u f man
Chapel.
Dr. L i p s k y, a graduate of
Loyola University Medical
School in Chicago, Ill., took
post graduate work in pediatrics
in Vienna. He was a former
staff member of the city physi-
cian's office.
He leaves his wife, Evelyn;
two sons. Harvey and Dr. Sam-
uel Lipton, of Chicago; f our
daughters, Jane, Mrs. George
Blum, Mrs. Robert Penskar and
Mrs. Abe Weingrot; and nine
grandchildren.

New York Leader Dies

NEW YORK, (JTA)—Joseph
Eisner, active in Jewish philan-
thropy and communal activities,
died Sunday night at the age of
57. He was vice-chairman of the
Union of American Hebrew Con-
gregations and had served as
general chairman of several
campaigns of the United Jewish
Appeal of Greater New York.

Mrs. Mordecai Kaplan,
Hadassah Founder, Dies

NEW YORK (JTA)—Mrs.
Lena Kaplan, a founder of
Hadassah and longtime leader
of the women's Zionist 'organi-
zation, died here Saturday.
The wife of Rabbi Mordecai
M. Kaplan, noted Jewish philos-
opher and founder of the Re-
constructionist movement, Mrs.
Kalan was active in a number
of civic groups including Irviah,
a women's organization active
in the field of Jewish educa-
tion, and the Children's Wel-
fare League.
