Community Center presented
the various champions with
sports awards at the awards
banquet held recently.
Awards were presented to
the following teen-a nd-tween

MISS SHIRLEY NICHOLS

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Nichols. of

of their daughter, Shirley Joy,
to Robert Eugene Schiff, son

MISS BARBARA SCHWARTZ

A Detroit Jewish Youth Cele-
bration of Israel's Tenth An-
niversary will be held at 2
p.m., May 18, at Mumford High
auditorium.
The program, which is free
and open to the public, will
feature many entertainment fea-
tures, gymnastics and a presen-
tation of colors.
Keynote speaker will be Mi-
chael Bentwich, dean of He-
brew University, now working
on his doctorate at the Uni-
versity of Michigan.
Participating in the musical
portion of the program will be
the Midrasha, HadaSsah Debs,
Habonim, Hashomer Hatzair,
Senior Judea and the United
Hebrew Schools.

first dinner-dance of the
Town and Country Club are

21, in the Elmwood Casino.
The Town and Country Club,
which has land at Southfield
and 12 1/2 Mile Rd., is ex-
pected to start construction
of clubhouse facilities this
summer. Formulation of these
future building plans will be
discussed at 9 p.m. Monday
at Beth Abraham synagogue,
when elections will be held.

Israeli army officer now serving
as an instructor here with the
United Hebrew Schools, will be
guest speaker at an open meet-
ing of the Shaarey Zedek Young
People's League at 8:30 p.m.,
Monday, in the synagogue.
