SUSANNAH RABINOWITZ

The engagement of Susannah
Rabinowitz, daughter of Dr.
Isaac Rabinowitz, of Ithaca, N.
Y., and Mrs. Lillian Rabinowitz,
of Berkeley, Calif., to Marc
Anton Rubenstein, son of Dr.
and Mrs. Ben Rubenstein, of
18610 Mendota, Detroit, and
Guilford Center, Vt., was an-
nounced recently at a cocktail
party given by the Rubensteins.
The bride-elect, who attended
Wayne State University and the
University of California, is pres-
ently a student at the : Univer-
sity of Chicago. Her father, the
former Louis LaMed Professor
in Jewish studies at WSU, is
now professor of Semitic lan-
guages and literature at Cornell
University.
Mr. Rubenstein studied at the
.University of Michigan, the Sor-
bonne in Paris and graduated
from Dartmouth College in 1956.
He is. presently attending the
WSU college of medicine.
Plans are being made for a
June 22 wedding in Ithaca, N. Y.

A native Detroiter, Leonard
Hack graduated from the Uni-
versity of Michigan, where he
majored in business administra-
tion. He entered the shoe field
in 1933 through the Hack Shoe
Co., of which he is now vice-
president and treasurer.
He is a past president of the
Detroit Shoe Retailers Assn., a
past president of the Durfee
Chapter, Better Schools Asso-
ciation; a member of Perfec-
tion Lodge, F. & A. M.; a 32nd
degree Mason and a member of
Moslem Temple of the Shrine.
He is also a member of the De-
troit Controllers Group of the
Detroit Board of Commerce and
of the local, state and National
Shoe Retailers Association.
With his wife, the former
Dorothy Fred of Lebanon, 0.,
he resides at 19924 Canterbury.
They have two sons, Lawrence,
19, • a sophomore at the Univer-
sity of Michigan, and Robert,
1'7, a senior at Mumford High
School.

to the Allied Jewish Campaign.

At 8:30 p. m., Monday, the
Simons branch Older Adult
group will celebrate the occa-
sion with a full evening of mu-
sical presentations featuring
recitalist Muriel Kingston. At
the celebration, the branch's

Scheduled for Sunday is a
program of singing, reading and
drama for older children. The
program is sponsored by the
Center's Jewish Parents Insti-

JWV building adjacent to the
