MRS. HERBERT S. LUX

Dr. and Mrs. Herbert Sheldon
Lux are now residing on Votro-
beck Dr., following their return
from a honeymoon in Miami.
Fla.
Before her marriage on Jan.
19, the bride was the former
Ellen Rae Skolnick, daughter
of Mr. and, Mrs. Morey Skolnick,
of 18269 Cherrylawn. Dr. Lux
is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam
Lux, of 3805 W. Buena Vista.
Rabbi Benjamin H. Gorrelick
and Cantor Ihil Gildin officiat-
ed at the double-ring rites at
Beth . Aaron Synagogue.
For her wedding the bride
chose a gown of white satin
with a sculptuiTed, portrait neck-
line. It was trimmed with Alen-
con lace and seed pearls, and
highlighted bracelet - length
sleeves and a pleated panel on
either side of the floor-length
skirt, which extended into a
chapel train.
Her Swedish crown of lace
and seed pearls held in place
a two-tiered veil of silk illu-
sion, and she carried two white
orchids trimmed with split car-
nations on a white Bible.
Marilyn Lux was maid of hon-
or, and bridesmaids were Made-
Ion Zaft, Carolyn Wise, Arline
Bittker, Mrs. Lois Fagan, and
Mrs. Marcia Shapiro. Junior
bridesmaids were . Susan Cas-
cade and Wilma Zaft.
Larry Skolnick was the bride-
groom's best man, and ushers
included Allan Rossin, Dr.
Albert Maize, Dr. Donald Klein,
Marvin Olender, Leo . Kaufer
and Bernard Nastir.

Bnai Brith sectional bowling
tournament, scheduled for De-
troit, March 15 and 16, an-
nounce Herman Zimmerman
and Sam Maza, tournament di-
rectors. The keglers will vie for
$7,500 in prizes.
Gov. G. Mennen Williams will
be the guest of honor at the
banquet, where the tournament
winners will be honored.

Name Detroiter to Assist
Chaplain at Fort Knox

Detroit serviceman, Pvt. Fred.
S. Robinson, has been appointed
Jewish Chaplain's Assistant at
Fort Knox, Ky. He will assume
his post after completion of a
course at the clerk-typist school
on April 1.
Pvt. Robinson, who has been
in the army for four months,
formerly was a staff member of
the Fresh Air Society here. His
new duties will include working
with and assisting Jewish per-
sonnel at the army base.

Circle to Present
Music Month Program

The Jewish Culture Institute
of the Workmen's Circle an-
nounces a program honoring
Jewish Music Month at 8:30
p.m., Saturday at Circle Cen-
ter, 18225 W. 7 Mile Road. Dr.
Irving Panush, noted educa-
tor, lecturer, and music au-
thority will speak on "The De-
velopment of Yiddish Folk
Music," a lecture with musical
illustrations. Herb Ovshinsky
will present a few symbolic
numbers on his violin.
The major work will be a can-
tata, based on the works of Mor-
decai Gebirtig, with solo per-
formances by Irene Pianin, so-
prano, Simon Klatchefsky and
Abram Jochim, baritones, and
accompanied and directed by
Miriam Gornbein. Community
singing and refreshments are al-
so planned. Admission is 75c.
