State to Join in `Religion' Month

Gov. G. Mennen Williams has
proclaimed November as Reli-
gion In American Life Month
in Michigan. He urged every
resident of the state to partici-

pate in the program through
regular attendance in a house
of -worship.
In issuing the proclamation,
Gov. Williams joined governors

of 40 other states in setting
aside the entire month as part
of the national observance spon-
sored by the Committee on Re-
ligion In American Life,Inc., to
emphasize the • importance of
religion in personal, family,

community and national life.
The nonsectarian Religion In
America Life Committee con-
sists of 70 laymen and women
of all faiths. The program op-
erates for the benefit of all
churches and synagogues, and

is suppoited by 24 national re-
ligious groups, the United States
Junior Chamber of Commerce,
the Public Relations Society of
America, and Boys Clubs of
America.
