BB Women Reach Collect $51,000 in Cash Drive
3 /4 Mark in Drive of Bond High Holiday Appeal
to Raise $100,000
Mrs. Sidney Eidelman, over-
all fund-raising chairman for
the Greater Detroit Bnai Brith
Women's Council, this week an-
nounced that the three-quarter
mark had been reached in the
group's efforts to raise $100,000.
The 7,000 women represent-
ing 24 chapters, working under
the leadership of Mrs. Philip
Fealk, Council president, ex-
pect to meet their goal by Nov.
12, • the date of the "Star-Stud-
ded Revue, which will be held
in the Fox Theater.
Among the local philanthro-
pies which benefit • from the
money raised during the cam-
paign. are the three state Hil-
lel Foundations, at Wayne State
University, University of Michi-
gan and Michigan State Univer-
sity.
Often called the student's
home away from home," Hillel
provides religious, cultural and
counseling service to Jewish
students.

Elects New Officers
Hiram P o p k in has been
elected president of the Stephen
S. Wise Chapter of the Ameri-
can Jewish Congress. Mark
Kaminski has been named vice-
president.
Other officers elected at a
recent chapter meeting were
Mrs. Frank Rosenbaum, treas-
•urer; and Mesdames Kaminski
and Popkin, secretaries. In-
cluded on the executive board
are Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Ab-
rams, David Goldberg, Frank
-Rosenbaum, Abner Rosenzweig
and Mr. and Mrs. Ezriel Weiss-
man.
_ Messrs. Rosenbaum and Kam-
inski will serve as delegates to
the Jewish Community Council..

Total cash- turned in was $51,000. A final report meeting is
slated for 10 a.m., Sunday, in the Hayim Greenberg Center,
when all workers are urged to attend to hear a final report
on the efforts made in the 27 participating synagogues.
