An afternoon tea honoring Dena Fishman, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Benjamin Fishman of W. Outer Dr., whose engagement
to Paul (Ned) Doner recently was announced, was given on
Sunday by his mother, Mrs. Elsie Doner. Miss Fishman, who is
attending the Wayne State University school of education, is a
member of Alpha Epsilon Phi sorority. Her fiance, a senior in the
WSU college of law, is affiliated with Tau Delta Phi and Tau
Epsilon Rho fraternities. They are planning a Dec. 17 wedding.
A bridal luncheon for 35 'guests was tendered recently for
Sallee Rosen by Mrs. Joseph R. Eder, of Canterbury Rd.
Miss Patricia Joan Turner was feted at a cocktail party by
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Irving Turner, of 26358 Dundee,
Huntington Woods, recently, prior to her departure for Cantor-
- nia. Miss Turner; a graduate of the University of Michigan's
school of speech and a teacher for the past year in the schools
of. St. Clair, has. been awarded an assistant-
of the Lake District -
ship and year's scholarship in speech therapy at Stanford Uni-
versity, Palo Alto, Calif. She was accompanied to California by
her mother, Mrs. Turner, the president of the Detroit Council
of Pioneer Women, who will remain there for two weeks.
Pfc. Eugene S. Richmond, of 18934 Kentucky, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Sam Richmond, has just returned from Alaska, where he
had been stationed for the last year. He has now completed his,
two year tour of duty with the U. S. Army, and is enrolled in
the school of business administration at Wayne State University.
Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin J. Feldstein, of W. Outer Dr., recently
held open house in honor of the pidyon ha-ben of their grandson,
Mark David Tarnopol, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Allan Tarnopol,
of Ewald • Circle.
S. R. Reznik, of 59 Seward, has returned from a two months'
stay in Los Angeles.

Sisterhood to Sponsor
Holy Day Institute

The Sisterhood of Young Is-
rael -Center, Oak Woods, will
feature a High Holy Day In-
stitute, to be conducted by
Rabbi Homnick, spiritual leader
of the congregation, at its meet-
ing Wednesday evening at the
synagogue. The. Sisterhood also
will discuss final plans for its
Nov. 3 bazaar. Friends are wel-
