BB Women Set $100,000 Goal
A goal of $100,000 has been
set by the Greater Detroit Bnai
Brith Women's Council for its
11th annual fund-raising drive,
it was announced this week by
Mrs. Sidney Eidelman, chair-
man.
Shown above is an architect's concep-
tion of the - future Sheruth Village at Camp
Tamarack. At the right is the Sheruth
Lodge, already completed, while at the
left are three of the six cabins to be
erected and for which ground-breaking
ceremonies will take place at 3 p.m., this
Sunday, at the Holly camp site. Sheruth
League began the project 13 years ago
by entering into an agreement with the
Jewish Welfare Federation and Fresh Air
Society. The 250-member women's or-
ganization, headed this year by Mrs. Max
Chomsky, has set aside half of its fund-
raising each year since 1944 as a trust
fund to provide additional recreational
facilities for community youngsters. This
year's fund drive will be a Masque Ball,
to be held Nov. 2, at the Statler Hotel.
Chairman of the event is Mrs. Maurice
Fried. The village will be completed in
time for the 1958 camp season.
