Fund-Raiser Can't
Get One Red' Cent

RIO DE JANEIRO, (JTA) —
A fund-collecting visit to Bra-
zilian Jewry by Dr. Adolf Ber-
man, a leader of the Israel Com-
munist party, was reported a
complete failure.
Dr. Berman, it was reported,
failed to obtain any funds from
party followers in Brazil who
were understood to be disap-
pointed and dispirited.
Two of the Communist lead-
er's public appearances ended
in near-riots. A fist fight near-
ly occurred at the third public
meeting when Dr. Berman
called Israel leaders "aggres-
sors."
The party leader fled from
the hall when excited listeners
started after him. Calls from
the audience of "Nasser" and
"traitor" marked his hasty de-
parture.
