Bigotry in Real Estate
J. J. CLARKE
The Southern Oakland Com-
mittee of the Jewish Commu-
nity Council is looking into
the possibility of developing a
long-range study of real estate
discrimination.
The committee, representing
Jewish service and religious
groups, was told of problems
caused by the movement of
Jewish families into new subur-
ban areas.
Louis Rosenzweig, acting
chairman of the Committee, and
chairman of the Council's In-
t e r nal Relations Committee,
pointed out that organizations
in the suburban areas were be-
ing given information bearing
on similar experiences in other
cities where the movement of
Jews to sometimes unfriendly
areas had taken place.
