JERUSALEM (JTA)—Dr. Jo-
seph Wuerdiger, a Hungarian

LONDON (JTA)—Prof. G. R.
Driver of Oxford, a foremost
authority an Semitic languages
and Biblical scrolls, declared
that the Dead Sea Scrolls are
not as old as is generally as-
sumed.
Addressing the Royal Central
Asian Society, Prof. Driver said
that recent consultations with
Dr. Cecil Roth, Jewish histo-
rian, had confirmed his views
that the scrolls were of post-
Christian origin. Most experts
believe • that the ancient frag-
ments predate the Christian era.
