Jerusalem teenagers enter the Y building at 32 Hillel Street
which has become a center of activity for youngsters - and
people of all ages - since the establishment of the YM & WHA
a few short years ago. Linked in fellowship with similar organi-'
zations throughout the world, the Jerusalem Y is a project of
the World Federation of YMHAs and Jewish Community
Centers. In the United States, Centers across the country af-
filiated with the National Jewish Welfare Board, American
member of the Federation, help support the services of the
Jerusalem Y to the community.

'Unforgotten', use
Stanley's Life Story

Ilse Stanley will be remem-
bered as one of the heroines
who was selected by Ralph
Edwards for one of his sur-
prise. "This Is Your Life" pro-
grams. She had earned the
honor by dint of unselfish ef-
forts to help bring back good
will among those who had been
torn by so many conflicts that
were created by Nazism.
. Her life story is told in an
exciting book, "The Unforgot-
ten," published by Beacon
Press (25 Beacon St., Boston 8).
It is the story of life in Ger-
many, a life that began under
pleasant circumstances, in a
very religious Jewish home. It
was marked by an affection for
the German emperor, until the
days of horror began.
But in spite ofthe troubles,
Ilse Stanley emerged strong.
She was not vengeftil. She came
through Gestapo jails With a
strong spirit and she accepted
her new-found Americanism
with gratitude.
Her proposal of a Bridge
Builders movement . gained the
interest of Dr. George N. Shus-
ter who wrote a preface to her-
book. She explained her move-
ment: "The general idea that
we would have peace if Chris-
tians would build temples and
jpws build churches." It is fan-
tastic, butt she drew attention
to her ideas among important
people.
Although she comes from a
very religious home, she made
it clear to her son and his fi-
ancee that "a difference in
creed was completely irrelevant
to me as long as it did not in
the 'future pose any problems
in the education of their chil-
dren."
But even with frequent un-
realism, Ilse Stanley's. "The
Unforgotten" makes good read-
ing. It is the interesting life
story of an interesting woman.

The name "Jerusalem" be-
stowed on the hull as it slid

ranking as the largest vessel
under the Israeli flag with
11,000 tons-. That ship has been
re-named "Aliyah" and will be
employed only for transport of
immigrants from Mediterranean
ports.
