Mr. and Mrs. Irving Hermelin, of 4281 Pasadena, left last
week for an extended tour of South America, during which
they will attend the wedding of their nephew in Buenos Aires,
Argentina: Other stops on their itinerary include Maracaibo,
Venezuela; Sao Palo, Brazil; and . Santiago, Chili. They are
accompanied on their trip by Mrs. Sophie Herman.
The Misses Marilyn Lucas, Susan King and Rita Sloan, stu-
dents of Julius Chajes, will be presented in a piano recital at
4:30 p.m., Sunday, in the -Hyman C. Broder auditorium of the
Davison Jewish Center. Also participating will be Frances Cooper-
man, soprano, a student of Marguerite Kozenn Chajes.
March-April honors for self=improvement go to Mrs. Louise
Friedman who will receive the Jewish Community Center's
Women's Health Club trophy at a luncheon on Wednesday noon,
at the Davison Center. Newly created individual achievement
pins will be - presented to Mesdames Shirley 'Weinstein, Caroline
Einstein and Ann : Galchinsky.
Mr. and Mrs. Hyman Lopatin, of 21441 Kipling, Oak Park,
recently held' open house in honor of their son, Sheldon Ross,
who is presently serving at Camp Carson, Colo. with the U.S.
Army.
Miss Suzanne Medvin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Medvin,
