a recent dinner party. The
eouple plans to wed this June.

the Schools' Parents Council

at its 18th birthday party. In-
ducted into office were Maurice

treasurer; Esther Freeman, hos-

Branch 1060 will meet at 9
p.m., Saturday, in the home of
the Ed Shifrins, 20050 Vaughan,
for a dramatic workshop. Those
interested in forming a dramatic
group are invited. Election of
officers also is scheduled.

Enhance Concert

A wide selection of Yiddish
and Hebrew compositions, in-
cluded in Emma Schaver's pro-
gram as soloist at the Jewish
Music Month concert of the
Jewish Community Center Sym-
phony, Sunday afternoon, at
the Davison Center, added great
value to the annual event
Mrs. Schav,er again showed
great skill as an interpreter of
Jewish folk songs. She was in
excellent voice and was warmly
received by the large audience.
Her program included Yam
Lied by Schneyer-Lavry, Kin-
ereth by Mark Lavry, Jacob
Weinberg's Yemenite Song, Song
of Songs by Lazare Saminsky
and Julius Chajes' Adarim.
Again. the e Symphony, under
Chajes' direction, presented a
fine concert. Featured for the
first time was Karel Salomon's
"Israeli You Symphony,"
which was given its American
premiere at this concert.
Two other soloists at the
concert were Shirley Seguin,
pianist, and Harvey Seigel, both

Jay Gall, son of Dr. and Mrs. of the event. -
Henry Gall, of 16906 Log Cabin,
will be observed on Feb. 23,
at Temple Israel.

Caroline K. Simon, one of the
outstanding women jurists in
the country, will be guest speak-
er at a paid-up membership
luncheon of the Detroit Section, I
National Council of .Jewish
Women, at 12:30 p.m., March 4, I
_in the Temple Israel Youth Ac-I
tivities Building. Discussing hu-
man rights, her topic will be
"Let's Weigh Human Values."
A member of the New York
and International Bar Associa-
tions, Mrs. Simon is chairman of
the New York State Youth Com-
mission and has headed various
committees on the National Con-
ference of Christians and Jews.
She has worked to effect inclu-
sion of women on New York
juries and is an active- member
Of NCJW.
Mrs. William Frank and Mrs.
Oscar Schwartz are chairmen of
the afternoon.

Richard D. Friedman, a build-
er of custom homes, has dupli-
cated the popular model of his
previous Oak Park home on six
lots in Southfield Township.
After selling out all of his
Oak Park homes, Friedman pur-
chased the six lots in South-
field, where he has constructed
the new homes, which consist
of three bedrooms, two full col-
ored tile baths and birch panel
den.
Of these six homes, priced at
$28,500, only one remains. It is
located on Hilton, three blocks
