- Crowds again appeared on Tel
Aviv's streets, after five nights
of strict anti-air-raid security
which darkened Jerusalem,
Haifa and Tel Aviv.
El Al planes never • inter-
rupted their flights, and all
other airlines have now re-
sumed their regular schedules.
A spokesman for the U. S.
Embassy in Tel Aviv stated that

It is gradually being revealed
that many fedayeen had entered
Israel on the Friday before the
Israelis started the Sinai Penin-
sula operation and that many
Israelis were murdered on that
day." It is believed that most of
the fedayeen were captured.
While Israel's position regard-
ing withdrawal of forces re-
mained the central concern
here, talk about the possible
achievement of a permanent
peace between Egypt and Israel
was also lacking here. That
thinking was advanced here this
afternoon by a spokesman for

JERUSALEM — The Jewish
Agency Executive on Monday
sent greetings to the army post
which approved a manifesto to
the Jewish people after it heard
that immigration to Israel would
not be stopped for a single hour.
It also discussed current affairs.
The manifesto reads in part:
"The whole State of Israel,
without distinction as to party,
trend or outlook, stands solidly
behind the nation's fighters and
its government which is in con-
trol of the fight. Let our people
in all countries where they live
now, together, without distinc-
tion as to the country's party,
trend or political viewpoint
stand side by side with Israel in
this just heroic struggle. Every
political public position in every
part of the world can . have an
influence on the outcome. All
the world's press is part of the
struggle and all the nations in
the world are represented on
the international political in-
stitutions. Let it be your mission
today, wherever you may be, to
combat distorted views, to deny
false statements, to disseminate
truths about state affairs in
Israel and the Middle East
and courageously and with
Jewish pride to express your
united will for the defense of
Israel's independence, and safe-
guard her future."
Urging the- winning of friends
in all circles, to explain the true
state of affairs, to create a
wider circle of friends, the
Israel statement calls on all to
remember that even in the
midst of the struggle immigra-
tion continues. Also, work in
agricultural settlement construc-
tion is going on.
Any additional:manpower re-
inforcing the country's economy
now is of double value," the
statement declared. "These very
days of decision for the State
of Israel also mark the turning
point in the e lives of various
parts' of our •dispersed people
and the eyes of many look to-
wards Aliyah Israelwards as a
last hope.
