Manson to Address ZOD Nov. 1;

Zionist Organization of Detroit's
general meeting. Thursday, Nov.

Schools. Harold P. Manson, ex-
ecutive vice chairman of the
department of public informa-
tion, Zionist Organization of
America, will be the speaker.
Mr. Manson, who occupies a
prominent role in world. Zionist
recognition as an editor and
affairs, has also won national
journalist. After gaining wide
experience as a news analyst,
he became. director of informa-
tion of the American Zionist
Emergency Council from 1943
through 1948. During these
years his office became the cen-
tral source of information on
the Palestine question in the
United States, and Mr. Manson
was an important participant in
the political struggle for Jewish
Statehood.
He also served as special for-
eign correspondent in the Mid-
dle Easf for the Overseas NeWs
Agency and director of the po-
litical and publications work
conducted in the Western Hem-
isphere by the Jewish Agency
for Palestine.
Thursday's program will be
the first of a ZOD series with
the theme, "This Is Israel!' de-
voted to a study of various
facets of contemporary life in
Israel: Athletics, the legal and
judicial system, present day re-
ligious life, business and com-
merce, the arts, etc., are among
the other phases of Israeli day-
to-day living to be covered dur-
ing the coming months.

the ZOD program committee,
together with Sol A. Dann,
Rabbi Benjamin H. Gorrelick,
Moshe Heyman, Joshua M. Hor-
witz, Robert Morrison and Jo-
