Herbert Kaufer, of Coyle avenue, has returned from a
three-month tour of Europe. His itinerary included visits in
Portugal, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Austria. Germany, France,
and England. After a brief stay at home, he has resumed his
studies at the University of Michigan School of Medicine.
Dr. and Mrs. Leon Herschfus, of Franklin Knolls, Farming-
ton, are motoring to Atlantic City, where they will .attend the
American Dental Association's convention. Dr. Herschfus is
scheduled to give a projected clinic on "The Histopathology of
Vitallium Implants" and a table clinic on "Refractory Gingivitis."
Dr. and Mrs. Henry Gall and children, Barbara and Steven,
have moved here from Brooklyn, N. Y., and are now residing
at 16906 Log Cabin. In last week's issue, Dr. Gall's name was
listed erroneously as Harry.
Ida Sherefkin has returned to her home here following a
vacation at Grossinger's, Grossinger, -N. Y.
Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Staub, of Santa Rosa Dr., recently en-
tertained for their daughter, Margot Fern, and her fiance, Dr.
Sander Paul Klein, son of Mr. Simon Klein and the late Mrs.
Mae Klein, at a cocktail party and buffet supper at Holiday
Manor. The couple plans a Nov. 3 wedding.
Among the out-of-town guests here to attend the Bar Mitzvah
of Stuart Bienstock, son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Bienstock, of
20222 Trinity, are the boy's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Aaron
Bienstock and Mr.. and Mrs. Louis Kellerman, both of New York.

Free Library Concert
to Feature Chajeses,
Other Local Artists

Vocal and instrumental com-
positions in the modern idiom
will be featured in a contem-
porary music concert at the De-
troit Main Library, Woodward
at Kirby. at 8 p.m. next Tues-
day. Admission will be free.
Among the performers will be
soprano Fr an c es Cooperman
and baritone John Redfield, ac-
companied at the piano by Mil-
ton Setzer.
Featured in a string quartet
by Theodor Berger will be vio-
linists Harvey Seigel and Eu-
gene Altschuler, violist Meyer
Shapiro, and 'cellist Edward
Korkigan.
Julius Chajes will be repre-
sented on the program both as
composed and performer; his
"Fantasy for Violin Solo" will
be played by Harvey Seigel, and
he will join Lare Wardrop,
English horn, for the Detroit
premier of Hugo Kauder'S 'So-
nata for English Horn and Pi-
- ano.",
Marguerite Kozenn Chajes,
his wife, artistiedirector for the
concert, will comment on the
compositions, most of which will
be performed from scores she
collected during her European
concert tours.
The Musicians' Performance
Trust Fund of the American
Federation of Musicians is a co-
sponsor with the Detroit Public
Library for this free concert of
contemporary music.

Dr. Berk to Address
Sinai Women's' Guild

Dr. J. Edward Berk, chief of
medicine at Sinai Hospital, will
address the first meeting of the
Sinai Women's Guild at 12:45
p,m., Oct. 5, in the hospital.
The luncheon meeting will
feature membership, with pros-
pective members the guests of
Sinai 1-16spital. Mrs. Seymour
Frank, president, noted the slo-
gan, "Every Member Bring a
Member."
Dr. Berk, who also is associ-
ate professor of clinical medi-
cine at Wayne State University
College of Medicine, will speak
on "S i n a i Hospital — Quo
Vadis?"
The Women's Guild currently
numbers over 1,200 members,
including _350 active volunteers
who contribute upwards of 36,-
000 hours of service each year
to make it the largest hospital
volunteer service in Michigan.

with Michael Gale. Dr. Leon

the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam
Gale, of Crastwood, N. Y.
