Yourist-Davis Rites
Solemnized Sept. 3

MRS. HARVEY M. TOURIST

Adrienne Davis, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Larry Davis, of
Birmingham, Mich., was wed
Sept. 3 to Harvey Marcus Your-
ist, son of Mr. and Mrs. Isadore
Yourist.
Rabbi Jacob E. Segal and
Cantor Nicholas Fenakel per-
formed the ceremony, which
was solemnized at Holiday
Manor.
The bride chose a gown of
Italian silk taffeta gown, hand
appliqued in Alencon lace. It
was fashioned with a portrait
neckline and a cascading train.
A pearl and sequin - studded
tiara clasped the two-tiered silk
illusion veil, and she carried a
Bible adorned with stephanotis
centered with white orchids.
Mrs. Max Baran served as
matron of honor, and Gayle
German was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Mrs. Donald
Pomerantz, Carol Ann Dvorin
and Bonnie Allbion, while jun-
ior bridesmaids were her sister,
Linda Davis, and Tiessa Silvers.
Janise Baran was flower girl.
Marvin Freedman was • the
bridegroom's best man, while
seating the guests were Donald
Pomerantz, Alan Perlmuter and
Donald . Starler. Joel Silvers
was junior usher, and Michael
Silvers was ring bearer.
Following a honeymoon in
Florida, the couple are residing
on Sturtevant Ave.

JWV Schedules Fall
Leadership Conference

The fall Leadership Confer-
ence of the Jewish War Vet-
erans, Department of Michigan,
will be held Oct. 7, "at the JWV
Memorial Home.
Larry G u b o w, department
commander, states that the con-
ference is designed to assess the
role of JWV in the world-wide
Jewish community and to pre-
pare for increased responsibili-
ties and activities.
Ben Kaufman, the only living
Jewish recipient of the. Con-
gressional Medal of Honor, this
country's highest award for
valor, will lead the conference.
Other leaders besides Kauf-
man, who is national executive
director of JWV, who• will at-
tend the parley are I. L. Feuer,
national vice-commander from
Youngston, O.; Edward Fleisch-
man, of Chicago; Fred Tournow,
of Ft. Wayne, Ind., and Sol M.
Hoberman, of Detroit, all na-
tional committeemen.
