Charges Anti-Semitism
Is Born of Ignorance
BUENOS AIRES, (JTA) —
Anti-Semitism in Argentina is a
product of "ignorance," Arturo
Frondizi, one of the most im-
portant leaders of the major
political party in Argentina, de-
clared in an interview with the
Yiddishe Zeitung, largest Jew-
ish daily in South America.
Sr. Frondizi, a member of
the policy making body of the
Union Civica Radical, pointed
out that two of the eight mem-
bers of that group are Jews. He
noted that he had often been
accused by his political enemies
of being a Jew. This is not true,
he said, but he is "proud" of
being called a Jew.
Sr. Frondizi cited the active
part played by Argentine Jews
in the development of the coun-
try. Admitting that there is
some "reticence" towards Jews
in some Argentine groups, he
insisted that it was due to "ig-
norance" and that "those who
know Jews intimately, value
them."

BBC Reports on Its
'Technical. Inferiority'
laborer from Sao Paulo, Brazil,
had his sight completely restored
here after an unremitting strug-
gle by a Boston rabbi on his
behalf.
Aaron Katz, of Sao Paulo,
who was described as a veteran
of both Nazi and Communists
camps, had his sight restored by
an operation at the Massachu-
setts Eye and Ear Infirmary. His
benefactor is Grand Rabbi Levi
I. Horowitz, of Rochester, N. Y.
Katz, who had lost the sight
of his right eye, • had heard that
Rabbi Horowitz often assisted
needy Jews in all parts of the
world. He wrote and explained
his plight. He was provided with
passage money through the gen-
erosity of the local community.
New York rabbis provided his
fare to Boston.
When he arrived here, on
May 30, he was told that only
immediate surgery could pro-
vide relief for his condition. At
that time, Katz had only $2 left.
Rabbi Horowitz went into action
once again and, calling on per-
sons in the local community,
raised the necessary funds in
just six hours.
Katz will rejoin his wife and
four children in Sao Paulo—
and what's more, he'll see them
clearly once again.

Industrial, Farm Experts
JERUSALEM, (J T A) — A
number of Israeli experts will
leave shortly for Rangoon to
carry out on-the-spot surveys
for joint Israeli-Burmese indus-
trial and agricultural projects.
The joint ventures were agreed
upon by the two governments
earlier.
Official announcement of the
experts' departure was made
here following the completion
of a five-day visit to Israel by
Tun Thang, permanent secre-
tary to the Burmese Deputy
Premier. He had come here to
discuss implementation of the
economic agreement signed by
the two countries last March.
During his visit it was decided
that Israel would supply the
managerial staffs for the joint
ventures.

Attack Indonesian Policy
of Enmity Toward Israel
NEW YORK (JTA) — The
government of Indonesia was
branded as "short-sighted and
ungenerous" for refusing to ad-
mit two Israelis into the coun-
try to attend the annual busi-
ness meeting of World Univer-
sity Service, an international
student welfare organization.
The charge was made by Dr.
Arthur J. Lelyveld, vice-chair-
