MRS. STUART KALLMAN
In a candlelight ceremony
performed against a garden
background of foliage and white
flowers, Gloria Jean Polozker
was united in marriage to Stuart
Warren Kallman. Rabbi Minard
Klein officiated at the nuptials,
held at the Sheraton-Cadillac
Hotel.
The bride is the daughter of
Mrs. Jacob Henri Polozker, of
Normandy Ave., and the late Dr.
Polozker. Dr. and Mrs. Reuben
Robert Kallman, of the Chat-
ham Hotel, are the bridegroom's
parents.
The new Mrs. Kallman, given
in marriage by her brother,
Bruce Polozker, wore a gown of
shadow Chantilly lace, stiffly
starched. Designed along medi-
eval lines with a gently draped
off-the-shoulder neckline with
scalloped edges, the rose pat-
terned lace was lightly dusted
with pin point paillettes.
The rose lace formed a head
dress with a halo effect, and the
full illusion veiling fell grace-
fully beyond her train. She
carried an arrangement of
stephanotis, lilies-of-the-valley
and white spray orchids.
Mrs. Frederick Greenspan,
the bride's sister, was matron
of honor, and Mrs. Elliott Cohen,
sister of the bridegroom, and
Mrs. David Leader were brides-
maids. Linda, Lou Cohen was
junior bridesmaid, and Jan
Greenspan was flower girl.
Elliott-Cohen was his brother-
in-law's best man, and ushers
were Frederick Greenspan, Ro-
land D. Nelson, Robert Fenton,
Sheldon Krause and Marvin
Bernstein.
The newlyweds sailed aboard
the SS United States for a hon-
eymoon in Europe.
in the current celebration of
the 50th anniversary of the Fed•,
eral Meat InSpection Service.
It has been pointed out that
our pure food laws have their
origins in the traditional Jewish
laws of cleanliness, of the salt-
ing of meat, of the rejection of
fowl and steers with blemishes.
The local Federal Inspec-
tion Service has three Jewish
members—Drs. David Marcus
(MSC, '18), Joseph E. Zeltzer
(MSC, '17) and_Harry T.
Grossman (OSU, '17).
Dr. Marcus stated this week
that the interest shown in the
anniversary of the Federal Meat
Inspection Service has heart-
-ned the inspectors. "It is an
indication," he said, "of the
people's readiness to cooperate
in assuring enforcement of our
pure food laws." Dr.. Marcus
said:
"Meat is one of this coun-
try's favorite foods. Today 80
per cent of meats carry a round
purple stamp of governmental
approval, and the rest are mar-
keted under state or local su-
pervision..
"For 50 years this Agency has
safeguarded the meat marketed
across state lines as well as that
destined for foreign commerce.
"For a half a century the
round purple stamp on federally
inspected meats has assured the
