Uncovered in * Israel
_ JERUSALEM, (JTA) — What
may well be the oldest tomb yet
uncovered in Israel has been
discovered at the village of Ma-
halla in the Huleh region. The
tomb is believed to be 10,000
years old. The excavations - are
proceeding under the direction
of Jean Perrot, Fre hae-
ologist.

NEW YORK, (JTA)—A plan
for leading experts in different
scientific and technical fields
to go to Israel for several
months each year for a five-
year period as permanent visit-
ing professors at the Israel In-
stitute of Technology has been
worked out by the Technion
and the United Nations Scien-
tific, Educational and Cultural
Organization it was announced
here by David Rose, president
of the American Technion So-
ciety.
The visiting professors are
expected to help relieve the
acute need for highly qualified
men in the top academic posts
at the Institute and to provide
training for junior staff mem-
bers. The visiting professors
will also serve as advisors to
government departments and
industrial enterprises, accord-
.ing to Mr. Rose. _ .

Arrest 6 Pittsburgh Youths
for Cemetery Vandalism
PITTSBURGH, (JTA) — Six
youths aged 20 to 25 have been
arrested in connection with acts
of vandalism committed in the
Homestead Hebrew Cemetery
recently. Damage was estimated
at $20,000. The arrested men
denied there had been any anti-
Semitic intent in their vandal-
ism and said the episode had
followed a bout of heavy drink-
ing.

ica, a member of the board of
the United Hebrew Schools
and a member of Pisgah Lodge
of Bnai Brith.
Born in Lithuania, he came
to this country at the age of
16 and lived in Detroit the en-
tire 43 years.
He retired from business
nine years ago, having oper-
ated the Royal Fair Depart-
ment Store, a retail dry goods
store in Royal Oak.
Local Zionist leaders, in ex-
pressions of mourning, p aid
honor to Mr. Feldstein's mem-
ory. In tributes to his efforts,
they- enumerated his selfless
work for Israel and called his
death a great loss to Detroit
Jewry.
