A surprise 35th wedding anniversary party was given in
honor of Mr. and Mrs. Louis A. Woolman on June 19, at Rainbow
Terrace, by their children.
Mrs. Pauline Sipkins has returned to Detroit following an
eight-month visit with her son, Jerome Pepper, a civil engineer
in Madrid, Spain. Mrs. Sipkins is staying temporarily at the
home of her daughter and son-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Benjamin
H. Stein, of 13109 Balfour, Huntington Woods.
Dr. and Mrs. N. L. Feldman, of Woodingham Dr., announce
the graduation of their daughter, Joan, from the Wayne Univer-
sity College of special education. Miss Feldman received a Fel-
lowship at Wayne to continue work on a master's degree in
speech correction. She is president of Delta Phi Epsilon social
sorority, and a member of Pi Lambda Theta honorary sorority for
women in education. •
Mr. Otto Herczeg, of Holly, Mich., and Mr. Marcel Thirman,
of Waverly Ave., will return soon from a visit through the East-
ern United States.
Mr. and Mrs. J. Granader celebrated their 25th wedding
anniversary last Sunday with a small group of friends at Elm-
wood Casino. In honor of the occasion, Mrs. Granader's family
in Israel bought them 25 shares in the Israel Continental Oil Co.
Miss Madeleine Shapiro, daughter of Mrs. Ruth Shapiro, of
Indiana Ave., entertained a number of friends at a luncheon at
Sacca's, honoring her 16th birthday.
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Horwitz, of Pontiac, Mich., will leave
on Sunday for London to begin a tour that will take them
through England, France, Italy, Switzerland and Israel. ,
Miss Charlotte Spector, of Lahser Rd., departed last week
for France aboard the SS Ascania. She will visit in France, Italy,
Switzerland, Germany, Holland, Belgium and England.
Miss Millicent Berry, of Huntington Woods, left today aboard
the SS United States for France, where she will begin a two-
month tour of the European continent.
Mrs. Miriam Morris, of Haifa, Israel, has returned home
aboard the SS Roma after spending six months in Detroit at the
Merrill-Palmer School.
Mrs. Helen Jackman, of the Elkin Travel Bureau, will lead
the first of three tours of Detkoiters to Mexico this evening.
The tour, Which will last for a fortnight, will visit Cuernaca,
Taxco and Acapulco.
Mr. and Mrs. Sol Silver (Judy Heyman) are visiting here
with their parents, Mrs. S. Heyman, of Cranbrook Rd., and Mr.
and Mrs. H. D. Silver, of Richton Ave. They arrived here
Thursday, following Mr. Silver's discharge from the U.S. Army.
They will proceed to San Francisco, after a short stay here, to
take up residence. •
Miss Ruth Meckler, a former pupil of Mischa Kottler and
now a student of Rudolf Serkin at the Curtis Institute of Music
in Philadelphia, will spend the summer at Meadcaymount, West-
port, N.Y., where she will be staff pianist for the Society of
Strings, under the direction of Ivan Galamian, violinist, and
Leonard Rose, cellist.
