Medical Association are plan-
ning to attend the sixth annual
assembly on Monday, in Chi-
cago, announces Dr. Bernard
Weston, president of the Detroit
Chapter.
The meeting will coincide
with the first-day meeting of
the American Medical Society,
and will begin with a cocktail
party at 5:30 p.m., at the Hotel
Morrison. Dinner will follow
at 8 p.m.
Dr. Moshe Sherman, president
of the Israel Medical Associa-
tion from Tel Aviv, will address
the assembly. One of the orig-
boosting the prestige of Israel
physicians. This is his first visit
to the U. S.
Other participants will be Dr.
Morton J. Robbins, national
APFC president, who recently
returned from a visit of sev-
eral weeks in Israel; and Sim-
cha Pratt, Consul General of
Israel, who will extend greet-
ings.

JNF to • Issue Tree Certificates
in Honor of Father's Day, June 17
The Jewish National Fund
will again issue tree certificates
in honor of Father's • Day, June
17, according to an announce-
ment this week by the JNF
office:
Certificates for trees planted
in Israel can be ordered im-
mediately by calling TO 8-7384,
or through JNF tree chairmen
of affiliated organizations.
The JNF Council, in its state-
ment, pointed out that "a grow-
ing tree is a living tribute to
every father. Let trees in Israel
honor or memorialize him."
In addition to serving as a
gift, the planting of trees helps
in the afforestation of the land
in Israel, the statement said.
Redemption and reclamation
of the land in-israel -.is vital
for two principal reasons, the
statement pointed out: the re-
construction of the land to fer-
tility and for protecting the in-
habitants of Israel settlements
from infiltrators.

ed president of the Shaarey
Zedek's Men's Club at its recent
annual m e e t i n g, at which
a w a r d s were both presented
and received by the organiza-
tion.
The Men's Club Kiddush Cup
Awards were presented to the
following youth of the congre-
gation: Judith Serlin and Susan
King, 8th grade; Linda Reist-
man and Madelon -Klunover,
9th grade; Lorraine Forman and
Estelle Ring, 11th grade; and
Harriet Brookstein and Alan
Rosenthal, 12th grade.

Weingarden and Ronald Benson
were winners of the National
Federation of Jewish Men's
Club Medal.
In addition, Abraham Satov-
sky, himself a past president of
the Men's Club and now pres-
ident of the NFJMC, presented
Dr. Lichter , with a trophy for
being the outstanding g r o u p
among Conservative men's
clubs in the nation.

66 New Synagogues in '56

elected to membership in the
United Synagogue of America
at the May meeting of the or-
ganization's executive council.
Since the beginning of the
current year, 66 congregations
were admitted into the United
Synagogue, bringing to 559 the
number of affiliates.
