luncheon being given by the
Dora and Jif"us Green Fund
Committee of the Music Study
Club at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, in
the Women's City Club.
Targ, who is national chair-
man of the music section of
Hebrew University in Jerusa-
lem and founder and -...hairman
of Americans for a Music Lib-
rary in Israel, will speak on
the progress and needs of the
music library.
. This is the library which has
benefited from the frequent
gifts of the Dora and Julius
Green Fund.
Marguerite Kozenn Chajes,
co-chairman of the Hebrew U.
music section, will introduce
Targ. Luncheon arrangements
are being made by Mesdames
Maurice B. Benyas and Max
Reich.
During World War II, Targ
was president of the Music War
Council, receiving a citation
from the War Production Board
for his efforts. He was chosen
for an award in 19,51 as the
man who made the greatest
contribution to the democratiza-
tion of music for the preceding
25 years.
He established his AMLI in
1950 after visiting Israel and
seeing the musical life of the
Israelis. He is a member of
many communal organizations,
and is a lifetime Zionist.

president of the Music Study

nual meeting will be held on

will highlight the election of
officers.

include several selections by
Mary Freedland, lyric soprano.

Sinai Staff Planning
Knollwood Social Event
An ex-resident society of
Sinai Hospital staff alumni will
be formall3; established at a
social function planned for staff
doctors on Tuesday evening, at
Knollwood Country Club.
The program is an outgrowth
of the second annual Inter-
Resident Night, held at the re-
cent quarterly meeting of the
Sinai medical staff. •
Scientific papers were pre-
sented by 13 members of the
Hospital's house staff illustrat-
ing original investigations and ,
work pursued in addition to
their regular routine.
Awards to participants in
this program will be a feature
of the Knollwood gathering.
