Gen. Mordecai Makleff, former Chief of Staff of the Israel
Defense Army, will come from Jerusalem to address the na-
tional action conference of the United Jewish Appeal, June 9
and 10, at Roimevelt Hotel, New York. Fifty million dollars
in community cash collections is being sought by the UJA as
the goal for the conference. Gen. Makleff (left) is shown
here in a "Shalom!" handshake with Gen. Moshe Dayan, his
successor as head of Iswel's Defense Army since 1953, while
Prime Minister and Minister, of Defense David Ben-Gurion
looks on. Gen. Makleff was a major in the Jewish Brigade of
the British Army during World War II.
Mrs. Siner to Address Torah Fund Luncheon

luncheon Wednesday afternoon,
at Adas Shalom Synagogue.
Those attending will be con-
tributors to the Torah Fund of
the Jewish Theological Semin-
