The Fund will make annual
grants of up to $300 to qualified
students undertaking graduate
work in the fields of civil lib-
erties, community organization,
economics, human relations,
journalism, labor law, political
scienc e, trade unionism or
worker education. All were
fields which Cousens' varied
career touched.
Leon Cousens, who died last
November, was an attorney for
Local 705 Hotel and Restaurant
Employees U n i o n, AFL; the
Communication Workers of
America, CIO; and for the De-
troit Mailers' Union Local 40,
AFL. He had been an editor of
several periodicals and teacher-
organizer earlier in his life and
was an active member of the
Workmen's Circle, serving in
many capacities.

gram, which will begin with a
dessert luncheon, is Isaac Dan-
iel Unna, Israel's Vice-Consul
for the Midwest. He will be
introduced by Rabbi Jacob E.
Segal.
Unna, whose entry into Israel
government service followed a
career in the British Mandatory
Government and service in the
Israel War for Independence,
will speak on "Peace — Vision
or Illusion?"
His talk will emphasize Is-
rael's problems in the Near
East with relation to the mass
immigration of 45,000 North
African Jews. Sisterhood mem-
bers are urged to bring their
