All were fields which Cousens' varied career touched. Leon Cousens, who died last November, was an attorney for Local 705 Hotel and Restaurant Employees U n i o n, AFL; the Communication Workers of America, CIO; and for the De- troit Mailers' Union Local 40, AFL. He had been an editor of several periodicals and teacher- organizer earlier in his life and was an active member of the Workmen's Circle, serving in many capacities.
