Jewish Community Center
Class A teams will represent
Detroit in the Center's Midwest
Basketball Tourna m e n t, the
weekend of March 17, in Akron,
Ohio.
Eight players from the title-
winning Wagner team to make
the trip are Bernie Fields, Al-
vin Rubin, Stewart Fishman,
Mel Tachna, Phil Young, Jack
Garland, Allen Hill and Ron-
nie Sherr.
Representing the runner-up
Alpaca squad will be Ted Brod
and Art Lieberman. Sam Lie-
berman, manager, and Mel Mil-
ler, coach, also will go to Ak-
ron.

playoff winner is still in
doubt, after Alpacas won
their second straight by de-
feating Wagners, 46-31. Re-
gals, having eliminated the ,
Rajahs, are still in conten-
tion.
Class B playoffs will be run
off Sunday, beginning at 12
noon. Mixing it on the floor
will be Trojans, Nationals and
Del Monicos, with either Sax-
ons or Zussman AZA winning
the fourth- place berth. '
In Class C, Aces, Imperials
and Flashes are assured play-
off places, with fourth place a
toss-up between Dukes and
Spitfires. The elimination series
starts on March 21.
A Teen chess tournament is
scheduled to begin at the Dav-
ison Center this Wednesday,
with competitiOn continuing
through the spring months. The
