both families,. Hattie Suzanne
Lippman and Philip Bernard
Schwartz exchanged marital
vows on March 4, in the Shera-
ton-Cadillac Hotel. Dr. Richard
C. Hertz officiated. The bride is
the daughter • of 'Mr. and Mrs.
Lee Lippman, of Warrington Dr.
Mr. Schwartz is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Theodore Schwartz,
of Whitmore Rd.
For her wedding the bride
chose a waltz-length gown of
French imported lace with .por-
trait neckline and tiered skirt.
A small cap of matching lace
secured her short-length veil
of illusion, and she carried a
bouquet of lilies of the valley
and stephanotis.
Mrs. Charles Baer, the bride-
groom's sister from St. Louis,
Mo., was matron of honor, and
Joanne Arnfeld was bridesmaid.
Charles Baer, the bridegroom's
brother-in-law, was best man,
while Noel ,ee Lippman, the
bride's brotTer, was usher.
The couple is presently
honeymooning in California.
They will make their home • in
Detroit.

SCHURGIN - SMITH. T h e
wedding of Thelma Smith,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscetr
I. Smith, of Huntington Woods,
Mich., to David Lee Schurgin,
son of Mrs. Ben Schurgin, of
Stoepel Ave., and the late Mr.
Schurgin, was solemnized March
4, at Holiday Manor. Rabbi Mor-
ris Adler officiated.
The bride chose a floor-length,
princess gown of Italian silk
taffeta. The bodice was accented
with re-embroidered Alencon
lace. From h8r tiny cap of
matching taffeta, appliqued with
lace, fell a tiered veil of illusion.
Selma Arkin was the bride's
honor attendant, and Julie
Smith, niece of the bride, was
flower girl. Arthur Schurgin
was his brother's best man, and
Walter and Paul Share, nephews
of the bridegroom, served as
ring bearers.
Following a .wedding dinner,
the couple left for a honey-
moon in Nassau, the Bahama
Islands.
