The WAYNE UNIVERSITY
THEATER and the Michigan
Society for Mental Health an-
nounce the opening of a new
program service to be known
as the Wayne'University Family
Plays, which deal with family
problems and are now available
free of charge to organizations
in the Detroit area. Requests
for bookings and further infor-

MRS. RONALD ROSS

At a recent ceremony at Ades
Shalom Synagogue, Esther
Sandra Gellman, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Gellman,
of Monica Ave., became' the
bride of Ronald David Ross,
son of Dr. and Mrs. John L.
Rosefield, of Sussex Ave. The
ceremony was permformed Dec.
26 by Rabbi Jacob ,E. Segal,
assisted by Cantor Nicholas
Fenakel and the father of the
bride.
The bride wore a gown of
light ivory, imported, Italian
silk, fashioned along princess
lines, with a portrait neckline
trimmed with Chantilly lace.
Her three-tiered veil of French
illusion was attached to a tiara
of matching lace. She carried
her confirmation Bible, adorned
with white orchids and a cas-
cading bouquet of stephanotis.
Attending the bride were her
sister, Mrs. Harriet Kaufer, as
matron of honor, and Lorelei
Schuman, as maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Elaine Feld-
man, Sheila Gordon and Bar-
bara Schwartz.
Bert Shapiro served as the
bridegroom's best man, while
Lloyd Newman, Ronald Selt2er,
Nate Green and Kal Kaufer
were ushers. Jill Rosenfeld
actea as flower girl, and Jeffrey
Kaufer acted as ring bearer.
Out of town guests came from
New York City, Hollywood, Fla.,
Pittsburgh, Pa., Chicago, Flint,
Los Angeles, and Toronto and
London, Canada.
The newlyweds left for Hol-
lywood, Calif. where they will
make their home.

Fenkell, a motion picture house
since it was built 20 years ago,
is being reopened as a legiti-
mate stage theater. The pro-
ducer is Leonard Mason. WIN-
TERSET, Maxwell Anderson's
Pulitzer prize-winning play, will
open_ at the Abbey on March 5
for a two-week engagement.

DAME MYRA HESS. incon-
testably the world's First Lady
of the Piano, returns from her
native England to enthrall the
American- audience, which never
fails to .crowd our largest halls
when she appears. Miss Hess
will appear in Masonic Audi-
torium, Feb. 17, 8:20 p.m. The
season of 1955-56 will,mark the
25th of her Annual North
American tours — consecutive
except for the years of World
War II.

nity Theater will present a
benefit performance of the play
"REBECCA" at 8:30 p.m.,
Thursday, in the Educational
Building of Henry Ford Hos-
pital. Under auspices of the
Greater Detroit Council for
Epilepsy, the evening's pro-
ceeds will go to the Neurology
Scholarship Fund, awarded
yearly to a Detroit medical

Jacques - de Menasce, inter-
nationally-known pianist and
composer, will be the featured
artist at a concert honoring the
12th annual Jewish Music Fes-
tival.
The concert,
presented by
the Jewish
Community
Center in co-
operation with
Hashofar, will
take place at
8:30 p.m., Feb.
20, in • the Da-
v ison branch

auditorium.
Born in Austria, deMenasce
has appeared as soloist with
the major orchestras of Vi-
enna, Budapest, Paris, Geneva
and Zurich. Performances in
the United States were with
the New York Philharmonic
a n d Columbia Broadcasting
Symphony.
On the program with Me-
nasce will be Theodore Israel,
violinist, with the Detroit Sym-.
phony Orchestra; Milton Set-
zer, pianist; and the Center
Symphony Choral Society, un-
der the direction" of Julius
Chajes, with Mildred Kates at
the piano.
