JWV Women Attend
Miami Conference

Mrs. Sam Spolan heads a dele-
gation of local members of the
Jewish War Veterans Auxiliary
who are attending JWV's na-
tiOnal convention in Miami,
Fla.
Items to be discussed at the
parley include a vote of con-
fidence for UNESCO, continued
aid to Israel, a report on the
American Korean Foundation
and others.
Plans also will be made for
representation at the Women's•
Forum on National Security, to
be held in Washington, D. C., in
the spring. JWV Auxiliary
members will serve as hostesses.
Reports to be delivered by`
delegates on their return are
expected to provide additional
incentive to workers on the an-
nual donor luncheon, planned
for Nov. 16, at Masonic Temple.

AUXILIARY will hold a Hallo-
we'en party at 8:30 p.m., Satur-
day, in the Memorial Home.
Games and refreshments are
planned. Working with Penny

Bnai Brith Activities

There were 246 pints of blood
donated, with 60 rejections, at the
GREATER DETROIT BNAI
COUNCIL blood bank, held last
week at Adas Shalom Synagogue.
Leading the list of donors were
Rex, Detroit and Bloch Lodges,
each with 28 pints. The next
bank will be held from 6 to 12
p. m., Jan. -30, at Adas Shalom.

and Chapter, Bnai Brith, an-
nounce a joint anniversary
dance, at Beth Aaron Syna-
gogue, on Tuesday, 8:30 p.m., to
mark the 20th anniversary of

ceremony for the birthday cake,

WEINBERG
On Sunday, Nov. 13, 12 to 1
p.m. the Weinbergs will mark
25 years of Yiddish broadcasting
in Detroit.
Through his radio programs,
Harry Weinberg has brought be-
fore the microphone for his Yid-
dish listeners such famous per-
sonalities as his lifetime friend
Menashe. Skulnik, Molly Picon,
Maurice Schwartz and other
famous Yiddish stage and radio
stars.
Mr. Weinberg, one of the pio-
neers of the Sholom Aleichem
Folks Schools, has always urged
Jewish parents through his radio
program to give their children
a Yiddish education. He has
given his time and energy to-
ward the building of Israel and
has helped raise funds for local
national organizations.
For this 25th anniversary ju,
bilee, a special live program will
feature the famous Television
and Broadway star Menashe
Skulnik and Cantor Judah Gold-
ring, accompanied by his wife
Florence Beintraub Goldring.
Bob Weinberg, brother of
Harry Weinberg, who has con-
ducted the American Jewish
Hour for the past two years, will
