events on successive days this
coming week. The first, to be
held at 12:30 p.m., Wednesday,
in Rainbow Terrace, will be a
Grand Victory Luncheon, cele-
brating the conclusion of a suc-
cessful tuna-raising campaign.
Entertainment will be pro-
vided by local radio and tele-
vision personalities, and reports
will be heard from Mrs. Isaac
Tennerhouse, preSident, and
Mrs. Joseph Norman, book chair-
man.
Mrs. Oscar Rosenberg; vice-
president, will be the after-
noon's toastmistress and chair-

The' 12B-12A party at Mitzie
Rachleff's hou.se today, will be-
gin one of the busiest and hap-
piest Weeks in the lives of June
grads.
Saturday, the graduating class
will hold the Senior Prom in the
Crystal Ballroom of Masonic
Temple. 'Lites will dance to the
music of Sam Barnett and his
orchestra. Planning " the affair
is a committee headed by Steve
Zweig and Harriet Fields.
On Tuesday, the scene will
shift to Central's auditorium for
the Class Day program. Jerry
Rakotz, 12A president, will be
master of ceremonies. During
the course of the program, Billy
Levin, graduating vice president,
will present the traditional
"Spade" to Leonard Milstone,
12B president.
The "Spade" is the actual
Dlement used to turn the first
sod at the beginning of Central's
construction • in -1926. Also on
the program, Marcia Silber will
present the class gift to the
school; Elaine Zeidman and

Rita -Kazdan
will deliver the
class prophesy, and Phyllis Ivory
will recite the class poem.
•Wednesday morning, in Mac-
kenzie's auditorium, over 350
seniors will gather for the last
time. The graduation ceremonies
will take place, and diplomas
will be given out. The students
speaking will be Jerry Kazdan,
Winifred Ledger, Rochelle Nach-
man,
Sulkes and Judy Op-
penheim.
Alan Rosenthal was elected
president of the Detroit Wind-
sor Council of A.Z.A. in elec-
tions held June 9. Others elect-
were Jerry Uzansky, vice
president; Neil Superfon and
Steve Weisswasser, secretaries;
Shel Winkelman, treasurer; and
Ronnie Aronson, reporter.

Cong. Ahavas Achim
To Consecrate Two
At Services Sunday

- The second of two important
milestones in the history of the
Ahavas Achim Religious School
will .be achieved Sunday when
the school holds its first conse-
cration ceremony. The first was
the school graduation exercises
on May 29.
The two consecrants, Janet
Waserman and Judith Caplan,
began,.intensive studies in 1953,
under the guidance of Mrs. Jacob
Chinitz, and did original re-
search on Jewish topics and his-
tor:v- . They also studied in the
United Hebrew Schools, and re-
ceived special instruction from
Rabbi Chinitz.
The consecration service, to
begin at 10 a.m., at the -syna-
gogue. will feature original dis-
sertations in Hebrew by both
young ladies and an original
cantata, written by Rabbi Chin-
itz, and directed by Mrs. Chinitz
and Ellis B. Rifkin.
The cantata, , "If Not Now—
When?", will be presented by
the youth group, and is based on
a quotation from the Ethics of
the Fathers concerning self-re,
liance, altruism and the import-
ance of the present. •
The consecration will continue
in the future as a two-year ex-
tension of training upon gradu-
ation from the school's eighth
grade.
The congregation's Sisterhood
has invited all children to at-
tend a program at Kiddieland,
on Thursday, when they will
have charge of the amusement
