Activitiei in
Mr. and Mrs. Herman Litvin, of 18410 WoOdinham, were
honored June 3 on their 30th wedding anniversary with a sur-
prise party at Elmwood Casino given by their daughters and
sons-in-law, Miss Evelyn Litvin, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Faigenbaum
and Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Maniloff,-for some 30 guests.
Mrs. Joseph Adinoff (Marjorie Kanter) and daughters, Jan
Carol and Pamela Sue, arrived in Detroit on Thursday for a
month's visit with their mother and grandmother, Mrs. Jerome
Kanter, of 19735 Prairie. Mr. Adinoff will arrive here on June 25
to spend a week before the family returns to California around
July 4.
Mr. and Mrs. Royal A. Oppenheim and daughter, Patricia
Joyce, have returned to their home, at 1941 Wellesley Dr., follow-
ing a stay at the Hotel Fontainebleau, in Miami Beach, Fla., and
the Plaza Hotel in New York.
Dr. and Mrs. J. J. Goode, of 18900 Cherrylawn, will hold open
house from 8 to 11:30 p.m., Tuesday, in honor of the Bar Mitzvah
of their son, Martin Goode No cards.
Mr. Jerome Halperin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Halperin, is
graduating this month from the Harvard University Law School.
Mr. and Mrs. Hy Pickman and Mr. David Robinson, of this
city, have left for St. Louis, Mo., where they will attend the
graduation of the Pickmans' son, A/Ic Gerald N. Pickman, from
Washirigton University. A/lc Pickman is stationed in St. Louis
with the Air Force Publications. Unit. He is a former .Wayne
University student.
Dr. and Mrs. Laurence F. Segar, of 19000 Birchcrest, will be
at home from 3 to 5 p.m., June 19, in honor of the marriage of
-Miss Nina Tosch, to their son, Mr. Ronald J. Segar.
Mr. Leonard Epstein, of 19129 Hubbell, Mr. Robert Redlich,
of 17410 Kentucky, and Mr. Stuart M. Wilhelm, of 173"68 Ohio,
will leave shortly for New York where they will fly to London,
Paris and Switzerland for a two-month vacation. -
Members of the Sholem Aleichern Institute feted Mr. and Mrs ;
Herman Kanter, of 19350 Ardmore, on their 35th wedding anni- -
versary, at a celebration for their relatives and friends in the
Institute. Mr. Kanter is chairman of the Institute building
committee, and Mrs. Kanter is treasurer of the Women's Division.
Moshe Friedman, president of the Institute, was toastmaster.
David DiCastro, president of the Jewish Welfare Board of
Panama City, , and Mrs. DiCastro visited here this week. They
were guests at the JWV banquet Sunday evening.
Betty Kowalsky will present pupils froM her class in a piano
recital, Sunday, 3:30 p.m., at Baldwin Recital Hall. The public is
invited.
Mr. and Mrs. Norman C. Barcus and son, Ronald,. formerly of
Longfellow avenue, are now residing in their new home on Church
street, Oak Park.

returned to office the following:

Philip Fabian, treasurer; Mrs.
Sara Caplan, secretary.
At its election meeting the
Council completed plans for two
events in its youth program. • At
1 p.m., Sunday, the Council's
youth group will sponsor a party
at the WC Center, for 45 young-
sters who have been active in
the bowling league and drama
club maintained by WC. Trophies
will be awarded to 15 bowlers
for high averages or for showing
the greatest improvement in
their bowling in the course of
the past season. The young
thespians will receive loving cup
mementoes for their part in the
plays performed by the drama
club.
Members of the Youth Group
headed by Chairman Dave Plas-
kov, have prepared a program of
refreshments for the children
and their parents.
Council also approved plans
for its annual Family Fun Festi-
val, in the Lakeview area of
Middle Rouge Park, June 26.
WC*Branch 1060 has slated a
talk by several of its own mem-
bers on the subject "Problems
Facing American Labor Today"
as the topic for its next meet-
ing. Members Bill Goode and
Don Houston will lead the dis-
cussion, tonight at the home of
Dr. and Mrs. Zalman Konikow,
