Hebrew University Gets $150,000 from Three U.S. Donors

Friday, June 3, 1955

JERUSALEM, (JTA) — The
Hebrew University announced
receipt of three gifts totaling
$150,000 from American donors.
The largest gift came from
Harry Kangesser of Cleveland,
who contributed $100,000 to the
University's building fund in
memory of his brother. Mr.
Kangesser is •a member of the
board of directors of the Amer-
ican Friends of the University
and was recently made a fellow
of the University.
A $25,000 gift was made by
Adolph Ullman of Boston, long
active in behalf of the Univer-
sity who recently became a
member of the board of the
American Friends of the Univer-
sity. The third, a $25,000 be-

names of Bnai Brith martyrs as well as others who will be
memorialized by Bnai Brith members who purchase trees. The
shrine also 'is expected to become a place of meditation and
prayer for Bnai Brith visitors to Israel. Hundreds of thousands
of trees will be planted on this barren hill near Jerusalem as the
contribution of Bnai Brith to the Great Martyrs Forest of the
Jewish National Fund. Looking on while President Klutznick

Grand L‘dge Fifteen, which includes the Bnai Brith branches in
Great Britain and Ireland; and JUDGE SHALOM KASSAN, right,

Board of Directors of the Jewish National Fund; Behor Shitrit,
Israeli Minister of Police; and many other Bnai Brith and Israeli
