Bnai Brith Young Men
Show Filial Loyalty

Fifteen members of Carl Mintz
Chapter, Bnai Brith Young Men,
this year are celebrating their
fifth year of Bnai Brith affilia-
tion. The group organized in
1950 as the Samuel Gompers
Chapter, Aleph Zadik Aleph, and
later formed the Mintz Chapter.
During their AZA years, they
participated in all phases of the
Bnai Brith youth program—
athletics, social and religious.
For their efforts in the latter
activity, they won the Marvin
Spevakow religious activities
award two years running.
As the Mintz Chapter, the
members continue their work,
and have added another impor-
tant program — a community
service project, through which
they entertain orphans and
shut-ins, hold fund-raising pro-
grams and conduct a survey for
the Detroit Youth Council.
Most of the Mintz members
are in college or business, while
two are serving in the armed
forces. The young men claim
they expect to be together for a
long time—in Bnai Brith.

For the first time in the his-
tory of the Detroit Builder's
Show model home give-away,
two individuals were tied for first
place. But, as Mrs. Irene Simon,
one of the winners says, "half
a loaf is better than none."
Actually, Mrs. Simon, along
with her co-winner, Mrs. Carolyn
Moffat, have decided to sell the
home, located at Southfield Rd.
and 9 1/2 Mile, in Southfield Town-
ship.
