Home Auxiliary flans Anniversary Program

The Women's Auxiliary of the
Jewish Home for Aged will cele-
brate its 30th anniversary with
a luncheon and installation of
officers ceremony - on May 16, at
Holiday Manor.
Shoshana Br o o ks Freedman,
concert soprano, will be guest
artist. She will be accompanied
at the piano by Mrs. Herman
Bregman. Mrs. Ben Arkin, over-
all chairman, is assisted by Mes-
dames Jack Fisher, program;
Ned L i p p i t t, installation; H.
Meer and H. Steinman, arrange-
ments.
The Auxiliary, through its an-
n u a l dues, sponsors monthly

Prince Surachatra Chatrachai and Princess Rajda, of Thailand,
will this weekend be guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ellis
Fisher, of 18622 Oak Dr. They are the house guests of the Fishers'
children, Michael and Nancy, both students at the University of
Michigan, which the Prince and Princess also attend as exchange
students. The Prince, who earned a degree in engineering in Aus-
tralia, hopes to receive a doctorate from U. of M. The princess
is studying nutrition.
Mr. and Mrs. Ben Tomarin, of Sturtevant Ave., have returned
from a three-week vacation in Miami Beach, Fla.., where they spent
the Passover holidays.

Mrs. Ida Gladstone, of 17403 Prairie, participated in PaSsover
activities at the ZOA House in Tel Aviv, Israel. ZOA House is
Israel's largest civic and cultural center, and is a project of the
Zionist Organization of America.
Mrs. Fannie Teicher, of Prairie Ave., will leave Saturday even-
ing aboard an El Al Israel Airlines constellation for Israel where
she will visit her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Israel
Neemon, of Jerusalem, Israel.
Students of Rebecca Frohman, Gerre Wood Bowers and Clara
Waldron will be presented in a recital at 11 a.m., Monday, in the
Women's City Club. The piano soloists will be Dorothea Buchal-
ter, Leslie Davidson, Jo Schmitt, Leo Zarcharski, Joyce and Jo-
anne Weintraub, Barbara Taylor and Carol Thom. The soloists
were selected from five auditions held during the year, and will
receive cash awards as well as appearances before the Detroit
Musicians League:

Mr. and Mrs. Ben Kaplan have returned to their home on
Woodingham Dr., following their visit to Miami Beach, Fla. where
they spent the winter months.
Mrs. Sarah Novograd, of W. Outer Dr., recently returned from
a• four-month vacation in Miami Beach, Fla.
Mrs. Albert Goldberg, of McNichols Rd., has returned home
after spending the winter months at her home on Alton Rd.,
Miami Beach, Fla.
Mrs. Rose Rubenstein and Mrs. Edna Barrer will present a
number of their pupils in a piano recital at 3 p.m., Saturday.
Miss Nina Claire Katz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Irving I.
Katz, of Santa Rosa Drive, was elected secretary of the University
of Michigan School of Education Senior Class of 1956 and the
Education School Council.

This week, Mrs. Oliver Ruby,
president of Michigan ORT, an-
nounced that word had been re-
ceived from Amsterdam, Hol-
land, of the opening of the first
girls' high school there under
ORT auspices. The school will
train personnel for key roles in
the fashion industry.

Camp Palmach Planned
By Hechalutz Hatzafr

A two-week summer camp will
be held during June 26-July 10
by the Detroit branch of Hecha-
lutz Hatzair World Youth Move-
ment at Camp Palmach, named
in honor of the commando force
which was the forerunner of the
Israel Defense Army.
The camp is owned by the
state of Michigan Conservation
Department and is located in
the Pickerel Lake Group Camp,
Highland State Recreation Area,
40 miles from Detroit.
Activities will include swim-
ving, dramatic s, discussion
groups, campfires, sports, games,
singing and dancing and will
feature an Israeli spirit.
Meals will be prepared in a
kosher kitchen and served in
a rustic dining room. Sleeping
facilities are M. modern lodges
with hot and cold running water
for bathing.
Parents of young people from
12 to 17 may obtain information
by calling or writing to the camp
