Slate Torah Luncheon
To Aid Seminary
The five Conservative Sister-
hoods in Detroit will hold culmi-
nation teas prior to the annual
Torah luncheon of the Michigan
District Central Branch Nation-
al Women's League of the United
Synagogues of America, it was
announced this week by Mrs.
Louis Tatken, president.
The program, at which coin
boxes will be opened, will be held
this month, and followed on June
7 • by the luncheon, at Cong.
Shaarey Zedek.
Mrs. M. Harris and Mrs. Abe
Katzman, Torah chairmen for
the Michigan District, announce
the following meetings:
• Bnai Moshe—A coin box open-
ing and film showing of the Jew-
ish Theological Seminary will" be
held April 18. Mrs. Robert Mid-
dleman is Torah chairman.
Ahavas Achim—Under the To-
rah chairmanship of Mrs. Sam
Kallush, coin box opening is
planned for April 11.
Beth Aaron — An educational
program, together with a Torah
narration and musical back-
ground is scheduled for April 18.
Mrs. Sol Docks Torah chair-
man.
Adas Shalom—On April 27, a
special gifts tea will feature a
presentation entitled "Call to
the Torah." Mrs. M. L. Harris is
Torah chairman.
Shaarey Zedek — Box opening
and plans to be announced at a
later date.
Proceeds from the box open-
ings and the June 7 luncheon
are sent to the Jewish Theologi-
cal Seminary as part of the
,Michigan District's annual pro-
grain to aid JTS. _
