Passover Greeting
Card You Can Eat:
A Barton Product

This year, for the first time,
you can wish friends and rela-
tives a "Happy Passover" in a
novel way. Barton's has intro-
duced a Passover Greeting Card
you can eat, made entirely of
Continental chocolate.
The Chocolate Passover Greet-
ing Card is post card size with
a beautifully embossed symbolic
Passover design consisting of
four traditional wine goblets
framed by sprigs of grapes. A
portion of the Passover Kiddush
prayer is inscribed in Hebrew
on the raised border and the
greeting, "Happy Passover," ap-
pears in English across the low-
er part Of the card. , It comes in
a handsomely decorated box
packed ready for mailing. Just
address the reverse side of the
box, add a four cent stamp and
drop it in any mailbox for deliv-
ery anywhere in the United
States.
This Passover the Jewish
housewife need not slave over a
hot oven to make the Seder table
festive, nor will she endanger
her reputation as a "beriah."
Barton's has added many - new
table delicacies to its well-known
selections of kosher-for-Passover
baked goods, candies and sher-
bets that makes holiday prepar-
ations easier for her while mak-
ing things sweeter for family
and friends.

Herbert Horde:ses
Acclaim Israel's
Economic Growth

Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Hordes

After three years' residence in
Jerusalem, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert
Hordes. who returned to their
native Detroit this week with
their children, Naomi. Tamar
and Leora, speak in glowing
terms of the progress Israel has
made so rapidly, in so short a
time.
The HordeSes are here to cele-
brate the Passover with their
parents, Mr. and Mrs. William
Hordes and Mr. and Mrs. Isidore
Singer.
Herbert Hordes, a graduate of
the Wayne University College of
Engineering, is associated with
the health department of the
Israel government.
Comparing conditions as they
existed when they first went to
Israel, the Hordeses state that
there has been a constant im-
provement economically, that
unlike their first experiences,
they are now able to obtain bet-
ter food and clothing in almost
unlimited quantities.
"Unlike Jews elsewhere," Her-
bert Hordes said. "Israelis are
less worried about the future.
They are confident that they
can withstand attacks from the
enemies who surround them.
They have faith that they will
succeed in all their undertakings
and that eventually their hostile
neighbors will recognize the fu-
tility of a war-threatening situ-
ation and will make peace—in
the best interests of all con-
cerned."
