Passover Appeal Issued for Allied
Jewish Campaign; Divisions Meet
With the advent of Passover,
a message has been sent to the
rabbis of Detroit asking them to
remind members of their con-
gregations of the needs repre-
sented in the Allied Jewish Cam-
paign.
In the message, Samuel H.
Rubiner, president of the Jewish
Welfare Federation, points out
that there are still "thousands of
Jews in tension-ridden North
Africa" who need help - desper-
ately."
"In Israel, the struggle to build
the country and its defenses
against hostile elements con-
tinues. And in Europe, thousands
of Jews must be provided with
basic physical, cultural and spir-
itual necessities," Rubiner stated.
The message discusses "res-
ponsibilities to our fellow Jews"
and points out that these res-
ponsibilities can best be dis-
charged through the Allied Jew-
ish Campaign. -
"Our individual, yearly gifts

programs in America and in our
Detroit community. These great
needs—both here and abroad—
can be met only by the greatness
of a community giving together
through a central campaign,"
Rubiner said.
Meanwhile, all divisions of the
campaign are actively engaged
in campaign tasks.

parel trades sections of the mer-
cantile division held their annual

division key members met at the
