Drive Nears End
The last f o r in a 1 assembly of
the current Israel Histadrut
Drive will take place this Sun-
day morning over breakfast
in the auditorium of the former
Labor Zionist Center, 13722 Lin-
'wood.
Invitations have been issued
to all volunteer workers, organi-
zation officers and delegates
who will participate in the busi-
ness sessions. All unsolicited
cards will be analyzed and re-
issued for rapid coverage dur-
ing the week following, which
marks the closing of this year's
campaign. •
The annual Third Seder pro-
gram, which in recent yeains has
replaced the formal closing
event, will take place on April
lb in Adas Shalom Synagogue.
The program will include
several well known Detroit
choral ,groups who, in addition
to taking part in a modern day
Haggadah which is being pre-
pared by Ben Basenko of New
York, will also present their own
repertoire.
Rabbi Jacob Segal will be
. guest speaker. Invitations to this
fubction will be mailed out to
the community in the near fu-
ture.
A capacity crowd attended the
farewell dinner tendered Mr.
and Mrs. Michael Taich last
Thursday evening at Lachar's
on the eve of their departure
for a three month visit to Is-
real. Associate 4. director of the
local Histadrut campaign, Taich
was accorded many tributes by
his friends and co-workers pres-
ent that evening. The Taichs
will leave Detroit March 21 and
return at the end of June.
With the exceptiOn of a num-
ber of special projects presently
being negotiated, most divisions
have completed their 1955 cam-
paign assignments. Several of the
larger organizations will con-
duct their annual Histadrut
meeting within the next several
weeks. Included in this cate-
gory are the Minkowitzer Socie-
ty, the Lachowitcher, the Mogil-
over, the Yiddish Folks Verein
and the Zitomerer.

Dr. Shmueli to Conclude
Series on Jewish Life
The final program in a five-
lecture series given by Dr. Eph-
raim Shmueli on "Changes in
Contemporary Jewish Life" will
be presented at 8:30 p.m., Sat-
urday, in the Rose "Sittig Cohen
auditorium.
Dr. , Shmueli, historian and
sociologist, will speak on "Amer-
ican Jewry—Whither," a brief
analysis of 300 years of Jewish
life in America and the destiny
of its people.
The series is sponsored by
Kvutzah Ivrith, of which Joseph
Katz is president. Morris Nobel
is chairman of the cultural com-
mittee, and Michael Michlin is
the evening's chairman.
Hebrew Schools to Hold
Annual Music Festival
The third annual Music Fest .-
val of the United Hebrew Schools
will feature an all-Jewish music
program at 3 p.m., March 20, at
Beth Aaron Synagogue.
A children's choir of 100 voices
will present "A Song of Israel," a
choral narrative by Morris Nobel.
Also participating are the Hash-
omer Hatzair dance group, a
special Chaiil group and a com-
bined adult choir of Midrasha
teachers and students.
The concert portion of the
festival is to include instrumen-
tal and vocal soloists. Admission
is free,,and the public is invited.

The biennial convention of the
National Council of Jewish
Women, representing 108,000
members, will meet in New Or-
leans during March 20-24, ac-
cording to an announcement by
