PW Membership Drive

Th e D e troit Council of Pioneer
Women, currently embarked on
its annual membership drive,
has scheduled special chapter
meetings, which will be ad-
dressed by Mrs. Yocheved Kop-
ernik, of Israel.
Mrs. H. Kanter and S. Levin,
Council membership co-chair-
men, announce that Mrs. Kop-
ernik will be in Detroit from
March 21 to 26.
She will speak
at meetings of
all 16 local
chapters on the
work being done
by Pioneer
Women for Is-
rael's w omen
and children. Mrs. Kopernik
Mrs. Kopernik, who represents
Moatzat Hapoalot, sister organ-
ization of Pioneer Women in Is-
rael, is presently on a tour of
the U.S. and Canada. She is the
executive director of the Jeru,-
salem. Music Conservatory.
An accomplished pianist, she
is a graduate of the Royal Ac-
ademy of Music in Vienna. Mrs.
Kopernik was a member of the
Haganah from 1933 to 1948, and
served as information bureau
chief in the Jerusalem sector.
