Shearey Zedek Couples
To 'Tour' Congregation

A "Cinemascope - Slide Tour
and a Panoramic Look at the
Synagogue" will be featured at,
a meeting of the Young Married
League of Cong. Shaarey Zedek
on Wednesday evening, in the
synagogue social hall.
Guides for the "tour"are Rab-
bi Milton Arm, who will explain
the synagogue's religious -activi-
ties;. Ben Chinitz, its education-
al- system; A. Brown, its-admin-
istration. Dr. Leonard Sidlow
will speak for the officers and
board, and Dr. S. Joseph Fau-
man for the library.
Members will have an oppor-
tunity to learn how the synagogue '
functions and the facilities it
has to offer.

Three W. C. Meetings

MISS BEVERLY GOLDSTEIN

At a recent dinner party in
honor of their 25th wedding an-
niversary, Mr. and Mrs. Philip
D. Goldstein, of Wildemere Ave.,
announced the engagement of
their daughter, Beverly Vita, to
Robert Clayton Rosenfeld, son
of Mrs. Harry Shaffer, of Colum-
bus, O., and the late Dr. Samuel
Rosenfeld.
The bride-elect is a sophomore
at the University of Michigan.
Her fiance is a graduate of Co-
lumbus Academy and Ohio State
University where he was affili-
ated with Zeta Beta Tau frater-
nity. He will enter Wayne Uni-
versity Law School in the fall.

Newly - elected officers of
,Workmen's Circle Branch 460
will be installed in the WC Cen-
ter, tonight. Chairman of the
branch for the coming year is
Eugene Brownstein; vice-chair-
man, Ruth Gottfurcht; secre-
taries, Sara Caplan, Rochelle
Aronson, Moe Caplan; treasurer,
Abe Brownston. Edwin Shifrin
will be installing officer.
The same evening; - members
of Branch 470 will gather at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Saul
Goodman, 19301 Shaftsbury to
discuss "Patterns of Growth in
Detroit," A representative of the
City Plan Commission will speak,.
Workmen's Circle Branch 1060
will meet at 9 p.m., Feb. 19, to
elect officers.

To Wed in June

Mrs. Irvin Baskin, president 'of
Northwest Child Rescue Women,
this week announced that the
organization has pledged to
erect a Coinmunity Youth Center
in the children's village at Petach
Tikvah, Israel.
The building, to be construc-
ted at a cost of $15,000, will ac-
commodate over 300 children,
ranging in age from nine to 17
years. The children come from
14 different countries.
Locally, Northwest Child Res-
cue Women underwrites the cost
of sending mentally retarded
children to Detroit Recreation
Camp. This year, the number of
children sent to camp will ap-
proximate 150.
Mrs. Baskin invites all women
interested in promoting these
activities, both at home and in
Israel, to attend a meeting of
the organization on Thursday

ten by Dr. Simon Greenberg,
vice-chancellor of the Jewish

is told for the first time in the
little book, "The People of Kenya
Speak for Themsblves," by Mbi-
37U Koinange. The author, the
son of an ex-senior chief, is the
President of Kenya Teachers
College. In 1951 he was sent by
his people to make known the
truth of what they think, feel
and want to the people outside
East Africa. This booklet carries
out the mission. Mr. Koinange
stakes his reputation that he
can bring about a cease-fire in
Kenya. The office of Ifenya

Common Pleas Judge HARRY
J. DINGEMAN, Jr., is seeking
a Circuit Court JudgeShip in the
Spring Primary, Feb. 21. A vet-
eran of eight years on t h e
bench, he has disposed of more
than 68,000 cases involving
judgments exceeding $7,000,000.
He is the son of the late Cir-
cuit Judge, Harry J. Dingeman,
who served on the Circuit Bench
for 24 years until his retirement
bedause of ill health in 1941.

fast of the Bnai Moshe Bar
Mitzvah Club at 10 a.m., Sun-
