Mr. and Mrs. Jack Coleman, of 18410 Indiana, announce the
arrival of a baby daughter, Linda Lori, on Nov. 28.
Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Greenberg recently celebrated their
silver wedding anniversary with a party given by their sons,
Elliot and Ralph Greenberg, at their home, 18024 Santa Barbara.
Over 120 guests attended, among them relatives and friends from
Lansing, Grand Rapids, Pontiac and Los Angeles.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Gilberg, of Tueson, Ariz., are being hon-
ored today at services of Temple Emanu-El, m Tucson, on their
50th wedding anniversary. The Gilbergs ha.d resided in Detroit
from 1900 to 1944 when Mr. Gilberg retired from ownership of a
chain of shoe stores. He is a charter member of Detroit's Temple
Israel. Since moving to Tucson, Mr. Gilberg has been active in
the United Jewish Appeal, serving in 1951 as local chairman. The
Gilbergs, who live at 1750 E. 10th St., have four children and four
grandchildren, all of Tucson.
Out-of-town relatives and friends who were here for the Mor-
ris Schaver testimonial dinner included Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Laza-
roff and I. J. Weinrot of Los Angeles; Mr. and Mrs. Nate Shever,
Mr. and Mrs. Morris Peck, David Shever, Mr. and Mrs. Morris
Lazaroff, Mr. and Mrs. Sol Goodman, all of St. Louis, Mo.; Iiting
Bozenbaum, New York; Prof. Aviva Zuckerman, of the Hebrew ,
University, Jerusalem.
Dr. Richard C. Hertz, Rabbi of Temple Beth El, was elected
honorary trustee of the Detroit Institute of Technology for the
College of Arts and Sciences, class of 1960, at a recent meeting
of the Detroit Institute of Technology, board of trustees.
Piano students of Mesdames Rose Rubenstein and Eada Bar-
rer will participate in an "Afternoon of Music" program at 3 p.m.,
Saturday, at their studio.
A tea will be given on Dec. 18 in honor of bride-elect Sandra
Gilbert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur B. Gilbert, who will be
wed to Rodney Landsman, son- of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Landsman,
on April 3, at Temple Israel. The tea will be, tendered by Mrs.
Landsman, 2637 Fleet. Both bride and bridegroom-to-be attend
Wayne University, and will graduate in January, Miss Gilbert
from the school of psychology, and Mr. Landsman from the school
of art education. Miss Gilbert is chancellor of Iota Alpha Pi so-
rority.
The children of Mr. `and Mrs. Sol Agar, of 2633 Collingwood,
will tender a silver anniversary party in their honor on Saturday
evening, at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Sam Better, 23425
Marlow, Oak Park. About 200 guests are expected, some from
Toronto, New York and Chicago.
Walter L. Field has sailed for a brief visit with members of his
family in England.
