CHICAGO, (JTA)—The site of
the forthcoming national con-
vention of the National Associa-
tion of Attorneys General has

ing the parley at the Camelback
Inn, in Phoenix, which discrimi-
nates against Jewish guests.

tion policy. Expressing "respect"
for the right of the attorneys

said it had been hoped that the

ness."

A DECLARATION FROM THE
VAAD HARABONIM
In response to numerous inquiries that reach our office, we ore
announcing the following:
The ruling in regards to the "Kosher" seal—"plombe" on Kosher-
slaughtered poultry, that become effective lost summer, and which
ruling was instituted in order to maintain a proper regulated super-
vision and control of Kosher poultry slaughtering,
has been long in full force, thanks to the whole-
hearted support from the Detroit Kosher Butchers
Association, the Detroit Schochtim Union, the
Jewish Community Council, and thanks to the
cooperation on the part of the Jewish public.
At this time we wish to warn the Jewish public to
please remember the following:
1 ) A slaughtered fowl without the proper
"Kosher" seal—"plombe" is not recognized as
Kosher by the Detroit Rabbinate.
2) A schochet, who, in violation of this -
ruling, issues, even to a private person,
a fowl
without the proper seal being attached to its wing,
is not recognized by the Voad Harabonim as a
Kosher schochet, and one is not allowed to use
the services of such a schochet. Breaking that ruling, the schochet
places in jeopardy his rabbinic license, which may be recalled at any
time by the United Rabbinate of Detroit. The schochet will then lose
all rights and privileges to do any Kosher slaughtering.
3) A butcher, caterer or poultry dealer who hondles slaughtered
poultry that do not bear the , "Kosher" seal—"plombe" is not to be
trusted on Kashruth.
4)
No schochet is allowed to issue loose "plombes" to anyone.
The plombes must be attached on the poultry at the slaughterhouse.
5) Beware of false "plombes," blue or white ones, which do not
bear the name of the Detroit Voad Harabonim.
