Dr. and Mrs. B. R. Berman gave a surprise party for 25 rela-
tives and friends in honor of their mother, Mrs. Ann Rothenberg,
on her 50th birthday. Mrs. Berman also entertained Mrs. Rothen-
berg, who is visiting here from California, at a lunch for 40 friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Friedman, of Tuxedo Ave., recently enter-
tained friends from New Orleans, La., at a brunch in their home.
Mrs. Beulah Appel recently entertained at a sweet sixteen
luncheon, in the Statler Hotel in honor of her daughter, Nancy.

witz, Marcia Miller, Judy Stutz, Phyllis Gerstein, Rose Ellen Cohen,

Dorothy Kahl, Barbara Littky, Barbara Margolis, Mitzie Kent,

berg, Lucy Sugarman, Helen LeBow, and Mesdames C. S. Markus,
I. Aaron, A. Cutler, R. Shook, F. Shook, E. Wolfson, D. Riseman, L.

Dr. and Mrs. Lewis R. Barak, of W. Seven Mile Rd., have sailed
aboard the SS Caronia for an extended tour of Europe and the
Middle East.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert S. Trepeck, of Huntington Woods, Mich.,
are leaving this weekend for an extended tour of the Western
states. •
Mrs. Benjamin Zum (Sandee Feldman) has left the city to
join her husband, 1st Lt. Benjamin Zum, who is now stationed at
Guam.
Mrs. R. Honeyman, of 2441 W. Buena Vista, and granddaugh-
ter, Adele Schwartz, of 17158 San Juan, have left for Phoenix,
Ariz., where they will spend the High Holiday season.
Lt. and Mrs. Harold S. Gaynor (Fayanne Sike) are now at
Fort Richardson, Alaska, where Lt. Gaynor is stationed with the
U.S. Army.

Young Zionists Plan Cocktail Party Sunday

A cocktail party planned by
the Young Zionist Club at 8:30
p.m., Sunday, at the home of
Lillian Tron, 3334 Sturtevant,
will serve a two-fold purpose,
it was stated by Miss Tron, pres-
ident of the group.
Besides serving as the organ-
ization's first event of the sea-
son, the program also will wel-
come home Pvt. Saul Silver, a
member of the group who is in
town on furlough.
