Ben-Gurion Chastises Zionist Groups
For Failing to Immigrate to Israel

TEL AVIV, (JTA) — Premier
Moshe Sharett told the world
conference of Ichud, the Labor
Zionist movement at Kfar Saba,
that while he did not share the
opinion that every individual
Zionist must settle in Israel, he
believes that Zionist organiza-
tions in every country would
prove their ability and loyalty
by their achievements in stimu-
lating immigration to Israel
from their countries.
Delegates from 16 countries
attended the conference which
also heard Former Premier
David Ben-Gurion, Berl Locker,
chairman of the Jewish Agency
Executive in Israel, and other
speakers.
The Jewish State needs rein-
f o r c e m en t, quantitively and
qualitatively, Sharett said. The
Labor Zionist movement, he de-
clared. would be tested in its
possibility to help the inflow of
this reinforcement.
Ben-G-urion stressed in his
speech that there is no differ-
ence today between Zionists and
other Jews. If Zionism means
mobilization of funds for Israel,
and political support for the
Jewish State, then all Jews, in-
cluding those who are not mem-
bers of the Zionist movement,
are now doing the same, he
stated.
"Those who do not bind their
Zionism with immigration to Is-
rael are not Zionists," he de-
clared. "We must admit the
fact that large-scale immigra-
tion. from Western countries is
not expected." He concluded by
stating that the Zionist move-
ment today is "disabled, para-
lyzed and empty of any con-
tent."
T h e conference adopted a
number of resolutions urging
Labor Zionists throughout the
world to send their children for
study in Israel, suggesting that
the Chalutz movement be inten-
sified, and recomMending in-
