Mr. and Mrs. Steven G. Ruby, of this city, have left for a two-
week tour of California and the West Coast.
Enjoying recent vacations at Oakton Manor Resort on the
shores of Lake Pewaukee, Wis., were Mr. and Mrs. A. Brown, of
Washburn Ave., Mr. and Mrs. L. Mundzow, of Appoline Ave., and
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Cohen, of St. Mary's Ave.
The Actor's Company of Clover Lodge, noted northern resort,
located at Omena, Mich., recently featured Joan Ellen Erman,
Alan Ross, Doris • Ross and Thelma Whitely in Noel Coward's
"Fumed Oak.', This Sunday's presentation, "The Mikado" by Gil-
bert and Sullivan, is being directed by Harris Crohn, concert
pianist and instructor in music at the University of Texas, in
Austin, Tex. Among the guests enjoying these and other pro-
grams at Clover Lodge are Dr. and Mrs. S. D. Forman and chil-
dren, the 0. B. Lanyis and children, A. Brodskys, F. Hoffmans, H.

Mr. and Mrs. Mark Amdursky (Joanne Bailes) and daughter,
Susan, of Chicago, Ill., have returned home after visiting here
with Mrs. Amdursky's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hyman Bailes, of
Ohio Ave.
Miss Pearl Berry, of Huntington Woods, Mich., left last week
by air for a five-week tour of Europe, which will include stops in
England, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Switzerland, Italy and
France. She will return home on Aug. 30.
Miss Rachel Sussman, of 3297 Tuxedo, was a xecent guest at
Scaroon Manor Resort, on Schroon Lake, N. Y.
A garden tea for the benefit of- Children Unlimited—the or-
ganization that aids blind children—will be held at 1 p.m., Monday,

Mr. - Zobert Ginsburg, of 13141 Pembroke, will leave on Sunday
for a two-week vacation in Charlevoix, Mich. He will return to
Detroit on Aug. 15.
.Mr. and Mrs. Max Broder, of 1000 Merton Rd., have left for a
vacation in Colorado Springs, Colo. While there, Mrs. Broder, who
is president of the Detroit League of the Jewish National Home
for Asthmatic Children in Denver, will attend the _annual natiofial
convention of the Home Aug. 1 to 4. Also attending the parley
will be Mrs. Sol Perlman, another Detroit chapter member.
Dr. and Mrs. B. L. Wigderson and daughter, Marlene, of Ros-
lyn Rd., have returned from a two-week vacation through Wis-
consin and Minnesota.
Dr. and Mrs. Louis I. Galin, of 18202 Oak Dr., are presently visit-
ing in Israel While there, Dr. Galin, national president of Alpha
Omega_dental fraternity, will discuss plans for the establishment of
the first Israel dental school with Dr. Leo Wertheimer, of the Ha-
dassah Medical School, with which the dental school will btassoci-
ated. Dr. Galin also isited Dr. Samuel Lewis-Epstein and his son,
Dr. Jack Lewin-Epstein, the latter who was recently appointed Re-
gent for the three new Alpha Omega chapters in Tel Aviv, Haifa
and Jerusalem.
The 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. , and Mrs. Louis Mandell,
17083 Joy, was celebrated with a gathering of family and friends
at their son Leo's residence, 4342 Cortland. The couple's seven
children, 16 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren attended.
Married in Hungary, the couple came; to Detroit in 1913. Their
children include another son, Edward, and five daughters, Mrs.
John Davis, Mrs. Harry Riffenburg, Mrs. Frank Wyner, Mrs. Harry
Kideckel, and Mrs. Joseph Ellison.
