Statement by Flesch
In a statement he made upon
his arrival here, Mr. Flesch em-
phasized that Israel desires
peace, and expressed the view

the Palestine problem in order
to make matters difficult for
Israel. He expressed anxiety over

`Under God' Added to
Pledge to the Flag

The United States Senate last
week adopted the resolution,
proposed by Senator Ferguson,
adding the words "under God"
to the pledge of allegiance to the
Flag. The pledge is to read: -
"I pledge allegiance to the
flag of the United States of
America and to the republic for
which it stands, one nation un-
der God, indivisible, with liberty
and justice for all."
Sponsors of the measure in the
House of Representatives, which
is to act upon it before it is put
into effect, are Detroit's Con-
gressmen ,Rabaut and Oakman.
