SHOLOM POST and AUXILI-
ARY will be the first veterans'
group to service Saginaw hos-
pital when members distribute
cash coupon books, fruit baskets
and cigarettes to patients on
Sunday. Roth-Berdun School of
the Dance will furnish enter-
tainment. Herman Gavorin, hos-
pital chairman, is assisted by
Ben Brown, Max Goldman, Mil-
ton Zimmerman, Pat Benton and
Ralph Bernstein. Auxiliary per-
sonnel making the trip will be
Helena Gavorin, Pauline Stole-
row, Molly Benton, Wyn Landis,
Bea Sugar, Esther Gottesman
and Millie Friedman. Transpor-
tation will be furnished by the
Red Cross. Girl Scout Troops
from the Pasteur School and
Cong. Shaarey Zedek are mak-
ing basket decorations. This
week, the Post is mailing Pass-
over packages to servicemen ov-
erseas, containing matzos, sa-
lami, coffee, tea and other holi-
day items.

will hold its major event of the
year—a buffet dinner and pro-
gram—at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, at
the Pfeiffer Brewing Co., 3740
Bellevue. Bob Hall, noted come-
dian, will entertain, films of the
1954 Rose Bowl game between
Michigan State and UCLA will
be shown, and a travelogue will

The Department of Michigan
Jewish W a r Veterans and its
affiliated posts and auxiliaries
will sponsor a one-clay drive on
March 28 for gift toys and
clothing to be sent to orphans
and underprivileged youngsters
in Israel.
The "gift" campaign is being
conducted in cooperation with
the community's religious and
Sunday schools. Letters have
been sent to parents of religious
school students requesting that
toys and clothing be brought •to
their respective schools to be
picked up by trucks manned by
JWV members.
The Michigan JWV Depart-
ment has promised a carload of
goods to its New York headquar-
ters. After collection from the
schools, items will be wrapped
and forwarded.
